Your opportunities for study and training

Since the Faculty of Medicine was founded in 1737, Göttingen has been one of the three biggest medical faculties in Germany, making it one of the most popular places for doctors to train in Germany. Around 3,600 students are enrolled in the study programmes of human medicine, dental medicine, molecular medicine and cardiovascular science.

The UMG is also training around 700 young people in 21 professions and in eight training programmes in the schools of healthcare professions. This makes the medical school one of the biggest training providers in the region.

With the founding of the “Health Campus Göttingen”, the UMG has created an innovative way to develop new occupational profiles and study programmes in healthcare.
