How much does parking cost?
All patients and visitors to the University Medical Center can park free of charge for the first 20 minutes. After that, parking costs €1.50 per hour or part thereof.
Daily, monthly, and weekly parking tickets
Patients and visitors can purchase individual daily, monthly, and weekly parking tickets from the parking ticket machines. These parking tickets allow you to enter and exit the car park multiple times.
The following prices apply to these parking tickets:
- Day ticket: €10.00
- Weekly ticket: €33.00
- Monthly ticket: €60.00
Parking is free for patients from the following facilities:
- Children's Hospital – here for Pediatric Oncology
- Nephrology – here for Dialysis and Apheresis

If you are a patient at one of these facilities, this will be confirmed with a hospital stamp on your parking ticket. Please contact your attending physician, the nurses, or the staff at the control center.
You can present your stamped parking ticket to the staff at the information desks in the west and east entrance areas. There you will receive an exit code printed on your parking ticket. With this code, you can leave the hospital parking lot free of charge.
Finding your way around the main building
Do you have an appointment at UMG? Here's how to find your way around
Most people enter the main building via the main entrance (the so-called west entrance) or the east entrance, as these are located in the immediate vicinity of the parking lots and bus stops. You then enter the building on level 0, the ground floor.
The emergency room is located in the basement (level 01), while the upper floors house the outpatient treatment rooms. Wards can be found in wards I and II.
You can think of the UMG as a grid. The corridors are labeled A to E from south to north and 1 to 4 from west to east. Where corridor B and corridor 3 intersect, you will find elevator B3 and stairwell B3 (see the floor plan below).
Most of the control centers where you can register for treatment are located in corridor B. The exact designation of the control centers follows a fixed pattern. Here is an example: 4 B3. The first digit stands for the floor, in this case floor 4. The second element stands for the elevator located in the immediate vicinity of the respective control center. For the shortest route to the control center, it is best to take this elevator, in the example B3. Once you have reached the correct floor, follow the signs on site.
