New construction of the University Medical Centre Göttingen

We are building the medicine of the future!

Over the next few years, the most modern university healthcare facility in southern Lower Saxony will be created in Göttingen. Two new buildings will be constructed in close proximity to the Göttingen University Medical Centre, ensuring that patients in our region and beyond have access to excellent university-level healthcare.

The UMG has around €1.1 billion from the state of Lower Saxony's special fund at its disposal for all construction measures in phases 1 and 2 of the new hospital building. In the buildings will be almost 800 beds and 37 operating theatres.

Both construction phases are scheduled for completion by 2030. The UMG Construction Company (BauG UMG) is responsible for the construction.
