Forschungsprofil: Dr. Anne Kästner verfügt über einen wissenschaftlichen Hintergrund in der translationalen und systemischen Neurowissenschaft. Nach ihrer Promotion im Bereich der Klinischen Neurowissenschaften am Max-Planck-Institut für Experimentelle Medizin, wo sie neurobiologische und genetische Grundlagen psychiatrischer Erkrankungen erforschte, verlagerte sie ihren Forschungsschwerpunkt auf chronische Schmerzen. Seit 2017 ist sie an der Schmerzklinik der Universitätsmedizin Göttingen in der klinischen Versorgung und als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin tätig. Dabei verbindet sie ihre neurowissenschaftliche Forschungsexpertise mit ihrer klinischen Qualifikation als Psychologische Psychotherapeutin. Im Zentrum ihrer Forschung stehen emotionale, motivationale und selbstregulatorische Mechanismen chronischer Schmerzen. Sie untersucht insbesondere, wie motivationale Systeme, Selbstregulationsfähigkeiten und kognitiv-emotionale Prozesse wie Erwartungen, Schmerzkatastrophisieren und Emotionsregulation das Schmerzerleben, schmerzbezogenes Verhalten und die Anpassung an persistierende Schmerzen beeinflussen. Hierzu nutzt sie theoriegeleitete Forschungsansätze und moderne statistische Analyseverfahren.
Langfristiges Ziel ihrer Forschung ist es, motivational-affektive Mechanismen der Schmerz-chronifizierung besser zu verstehen und damit zur Entwicklung individualisierter, mechanismenbasierter diagnostischer und therapeutischer Ansätze beizutragen.
