… by Fatima Irfan, one of our doctoral student from the 1st cohort, who participated with two contribution in this year’s joint annual congress of the DGGG and DGG, held in Frankfurt am Main from September 23 to 26, 2026. She presented her research findings via a poster and also delivered a short presentation in the “one slide in one minute” format.

Fatima shares her impressions in this experience as follows:

“I had the opportunity to attend the DGG Conference in Frankfurt, where I presented my research on “Cardiorenal Modulation of Plasma pTau217: Implications for Neurodegeneration Monitoring in TAVI Patients.” In addition to presenting my poster, I participated in the one-minute, one-slide presentation, which was a great opportunity to communicate the key message of my research in a concise and accessible way. Preparing for this short presentation challenged me to focus on the most important aspects of my work and helped me further develop my scientific communication skills. The conference was a valuable experience to present my research to an interdisciplinary audience, receive feedback, and exchange ideas with researchers working in related fields. It was also an excellent opportunity to learn about current developments in cardiovascular and neurodegenerative research and to connect with other researchers. Overall, participating in the DGG Conference was a rewarding experience and an important step in developing my confidence and skills as an early-career researcher. It was especially nice to have Christine von Arnim (my PI) there at the conference.”

Great job Fatima - very well done!
