GRK 2824 PhD students @ FENS Forum 2026

From July 04 to July 08, 2026 the FENS Forum 2026 | International Neuroscience Conference took place in Barcelona. Our doctoral candidates from the first cohort, Ege Kingir/RP9 and Shamim Sasani Ghamsari/RP10, participated in the conference as a GRK 2824 team alongside their colleagues from the second cohort, Alparslan Önder/RP9 and André Mendes Costa/RP11.

3 of the 4 presented their projects at a poster session as follows:

Ege Kingir: “The Role of Heart-Brain Interactions in Visual and Somatosensory Perception”

Shamim Sasani Ghamsari: “Integrating EEG, and Heart Rate Variability to Predict Atrial Fibrillation in Stroke Patients: An Automatic Task-Based Approach”

André Mendes Costa: “Non-invasive analysis of the heart-brain axis in zebrafish larvae”
