Presentation Skills for Science and Research Workshop

In May, our PhD students of the 2nd cohort completed a “Presentation Skills for Science and Research” Workshop held by Dr. Peter Schröder/brain4hire.
The workshop was structured into a two-day online part held from May 06th to 07th, and a two-day in-person part held from May 27th to 28th in Göttingen. Basics and specific questions of presentation were covered and prepared the students in differerent topics such as Communication basics, Scientific Output, Phases of presentation, Time management in presentation and more.
The primary objective of this course is to enable our students to present their projects or work in the shortest possible time. To practice this, they are required to film a video pitch/elevator talk afterward. To put this into practice immediately, the video sessions will start next week, during which each PhD student records a 1:30-2:00 minute video briefly introducing their project. The University of Göttingen's video team SUB VID will support us. Every student already has a time slot to record a video in a Greenscreen studio.
On 22th September we plan to give a preview of the video pitches and watch each video together with all GRK2824 members. Afterwards we will upload the videos to the GRK 2824 homepage under "Research Projects." The videos of the first cohort students are already available there.
Many thanks to Dr. Peter Schröder for his support!
