Last week from 19th to the 22nd of May the Neurizons 2026 – 12th biennial neuroscience conference took place in Göttingen. The Neurizons is a biennial conference organised in Göttingen by students of the IMPRS for Neurosciences program. As in previous years, students from GRK 2824 were once again involved. This year our PhD students of the 2nd cohort Laura Alacán Ricardo/RP8 and André Mendes Costa/RP11 were involved in organizing the conference and the moderation of some sessions.

It's a small conference that is predominantly attended by early career researchers, to have a chance to showcase their research, network with fellow researchers and learn about high-quality science being done around the world. This edition counted with the presence of speakers from three continents, who spoke about topics ranging from clinical neuroscience to theoretical and computational neuroscience. Participants got to present their research across two posters sessions, and short-form presentations, as well as longer ones.

The conference offered also a career fair on the first day, aimed at giving participants the tools to build a successful career in and out of academia.

We are sure that it was also a really interesting and helpful experience for all students.

Thank you Laura and André for your commitment - Great job!
