Career Path Clinician Scientist








Yesterday on May 26th we had our joint event „Career Path – Clinician Scientist“ Career prospects & Clinician Scientist Programs with the Hertha Sponer College (HSC) for medical doctoral students moderated by the HSC Coordinator Heike Conrad and Tobias Brügmann our GRK2824 Principle Investigator, RP2.
Clinician Scientist Programs with various research focuses presented their career prospects and funding opportunities for early-career researchers with a background in the natural sciences or medicine and research-oriented physicians. GRK2824 GAMS with aim to inspire medical students to pursue a scientific doctoral thesis in research area of Cardiovascular and Neuroscience ("Heart&Brain")
EKFZ Academy with focus on Optogenetics for physicians
DZHK Clinician Scientist Program with focus on Cardiology for physicians
UMG Clinician Scientist Program more open in research areas for physicians
Furthermore we had a very interesting plenum discussion in which Clinician Scientist role models from different research areas introduced theirselves and their experiences. They gave advices to the audience, consisting of highly interested medical students and answered their questions.
