GRK 2824 PhD student at Oxford Glymphatic & Brain Clearance Symposium

PhD student Angelika S. Bader meets experts in Glymphatic System

Our PhD student of the 2nd cohort Angelika S. Bader (RP10.2/Prof. Melanie Wilke) attended the Oxford Glymphatic & Brain Clearance Symposium, which was held from 30 March until 01 April in Oxford, UK.

Angelika presented her project by a poster entitled “Flow dynamics associated with the glymphatic system in the context of atrial fibrillation” and shares her impressions with us as follows:

"The conference program was packed with over 50 presentations, 160 posters, and numerous additional events, such as "Meet the Editors." It was truly fascinating and impressive to see that everyone involved works on the glymphatic system, examining and investigating various aspects of it—from mouse experiments and MRI research to the theoretical modeling of fluid movement in the brain. It was incredibly exciting for me to gain insights into all these research areas and to exchange ideas with established scientists in this still very young field. Virtually all the leading researchers in the glymphatic system were present, and everyone was very open and engaged. My own poster presentation on my research group's project also received a lot of positive feedback. It was a truly fantastic experience! Thank you so much for the opportunity to participate in this conference. It really is THE conference for my project, and I'm thrilled to have been a part of it."

Thank you Angelika for your impressions, and such positive feedback. We are looking forward to further successful visits and presentations!
