Notes for your stay
- There is no general mask requirement at the UMG. Masks may be compulsory for individual areas within the UMG. You will receive information on this from the respective departments. Please inform yourself in advance if necessary.
- Relatives and accompanying persons are not allowed to enter the UMG if they have cold symptoms. This is to protect patients and UMG staff.
- It is no longer necessary to present a current, certified negative corona test.
Visiting rules
- Per patient - two visitors - for two hours per day.
- Visiting hours on normal wards are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (last admission: 7:30 p.m.), maternity wards 3 p.m. to 6 p.m..
- Visiting hours on special and intensive care units may differ. Please check with your ward in advance if necessary.

The University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) is made up of the Medical Faculty with research and teaching and the University Hospital with patient care. The combination of these three areas under one roof is unique in southern Lower Saxony and entails numerous positive interactions, such as the swift transfer of innovative therapy options into patient care and education. Einblicke in die Arbeit des gemeinsamen Institute for Advanced Studies der Universitäten Hannover und Göttingen
Die „Nacht, die Wissen schafft 2023“ rückt näher: Am 4. November von 18 bis 24 Uhr öffnet die Leibniz Universität Hannover wieder ihre Türen für die interessierte Öffentlichkeit. Auch das gemeinsamen Institute for Advanced Studies der Universitäten Hannover und Göttingen stellt sich vor.
Die interdisziplinäre Forschung am Institute for Advanced Studies for Ethics of Sciences beschäftigt sich mit Fragen verantwortungsvoller Wissenschaft: Wissenschaftliche Erfolge können nur dann zu einer besseren Gesellschaft beitragen, wenn die Wissenschaft gesellschaftliche Bedürfnisse und Grenzen sowie die Gesellschaft die wissenschaftlichen Prozesse und Produkte versteht. Diese Veranstaltung gibt Impulse aus den verschiedenen beteiligten Disziplinen (z. B. Ethik/Philosophie; Jura; Politik; Soziologie) zu einem gemeinsamen Thema (z.B. Partizipation/Pluralismus).
