Workshop followed by Double Think Heart Lecture

One day filled with science

This week will be filled with a lot of scientific input.

From November, 24th until 25th, 2025 we offered our 2nd cohort PhD students the “Basic Microscopic Image Processing and Analysis” - Online workshop held by Dr. Jan Brocher from BioVoxxel.

The workshop was followed on November, 25th by our first “DOUBLE ThinkHeart Lecture” on which we could welcome

Prof. Dr. Cristina E. Molina

Heisenberg Professor of Cardiac Cellular Electrophysiology, Institute of Experimental Cardiovascular Research, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf & Visiting Professor, Dept. Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, University of Oxford, UK

with her talk entitled "Redefining neurocardiac interactions in the human heart”

and

Prof. David J. Paterson, DPhil DSc

Head of Department of Physiology, Anatomy & Genetics, Hon. Director, Burdon Sanderson Cardiac Science Centre, Professor of Physiology, University of Oxford, UK

with his talk entitled "Cardiac neurobiology of arrhythmia”

Both speakers were invited by our Principle Investigator Maria-Patapia Zafeiriou, PhD/RP4. The lecture was very well attended and afterwards our doctoral students had the opportunity for a “Meet the Professors”.

Many thanks to Prof. Dr. Cristina E. Molina & Prof. David J. Paterson for their visit and effort!

And last but not least, our “3rd RTG 2824 & CVS PhD Symposium” will take place tomorrow at Landhotel Am Rothenberg in Volpriehausen, which we are very much looking forward to!
